Hi, I'm Erika Novak, just a mom doing my best to live a little more naturally and build a low-tox home for my family. I'm not pretending to be perfect at it, and honestly? That's the whole point. Somewhere between swapping out harsh chemicals, finding better options, and creating my own products for the family to use, Kinda Sorta Crunchy was born: handcrafted goodies and curated crunchy finds for families who want to live more natural and low-tox without the pressure to be perfect.

A Natural Crunchy Mom Doing My Best.
My crunchy journey started several years ago when my husband and I began digging deeper into our health. Some of our test results surprised us, especially our glyphosate levels, and sent us down a pretty big rabbit hole.
We started looking more closely at what we ate, what we put on our skin, the products we used around our home, and even the fabrics we wore. Little by little, we made changes. I started baking sourdough, milling my own flour, choosing more natural fibers, avoiding ingredients we didn’t feel good about, and learning how to make more things myself.
Eventually, that led me to something I had always wanted to do: make my own soap.
Kinda Sorta Crunchy grew from that journey. My hope is to create and share thoughtfully made soaps, body essentials, natural products, and other crunchy-ish finds that make it a little easier for families to make better choices.
And the name? Because we’re definitely not perfect.
We still eat out. Convenience sometimes wins. We’re always learning and swapping things out as we go.
Kinda Sorta Crunchy is really just about being intentional, doing a little better when we can, and not stressing about being perfect.
